How to fix this behavior where zoom selection disappears when the cursor moves outside of the chart area? How can I keep the zoom selection active even if the cursor moves out of the chart area?

This behaviour is as per design and it’s not possible to keep zoom selection active on moving cursor of the chart area.

It’s a very strange decision to leave it that way. People are very uncomfortable approaching the extremes of the chart, it takes some effort.
Sorry for the inconvenience caused to you because of this behavior. This behavior is by design & we would revisit the same in future.
