Commercial Version Protection and Offline use

Hello,
I am evaluating the option of proceeding with my project using CanvasJS. It is a live updating page for my personal use. But that’s not important at the moment. My questions are:
1) if I buy a commercial version how is it protected from external downloading? I mean: once I inculde the script reference in the web page anybody can download it, so how can I protect it?
2) since my project is for my personal use and the js file will be stored on my computer I was wondering if it works also offline, or for the commercial version there is the need to be online for it to work.
